Zero-rating an intra-Community B2B sale is a decision you have to justify later, not just a checkout checkbox. This plugin asks for the customer’s VAT number, checks its format and check digit on your own server, confirms it against VIES, and records what was found on the order: the answer, the date, and the VIES consultation number that proves the check was made. If the exemption is ever questioned, the evidence is already on the order.

- A VAT number that VIES does not list is not an error and does not mean the number is invalid. VIES lists only businesses registered for trade between EU countries;
