Licensing

How to transfer the license to another domain?

You should ask for the domain change in your customer area, next to the original order details.

After you get the reply from us stating that the license key is free, you should go to the old website settings, remove the key and save. Then go to the new website settings, insert the same key and save. If you cloned the website, the license key is on the database, and you need to remove it, save, insert it again and save again.

What happens if my license expires?

The plugin keeps working, but some settings are automatically capped until you renew:

  • The number of Pickup Points shown is limited to 5, regardless of what you’ve configured
  • The city and address search option is disabled, falling back to postcode-only search
  • Lockers can no longer be hidden, even if the “Remove Lockers” setting is active
  • Pickup Point details won’t replace the shipping address on emails or the “My Account” page
  • The Pickup Point won’t be shown on the WooCommerce orders list

Renew your license to restore your configured settings.

Renewing your license helps us continue improving the plugin, respond to changes in WordPress and WooCommerce, and provide you with reliable support. We highly recommend keeping it active.

General operation

Getting started guide

1. Activate your license

Install the plugin and go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > DPD Pickup. Insert the provided license code to activate it — the rest of the settings only appear once the license is active.

2. Create a shipping method for Pickup Points

You need one dedicated shipping method (for example “DPD Pickup Point”) for each shipping zone, group of countries, or country* where you want to offer Pickup Points. Keep it separate from your regular “Home delivery” method if you offer both.

Creating the shipping method itself and setting its rates is done through WooCommerce’s own shipping zones (or a 3rd party rates plugin) — that part isn’t handled by this plugin.

3. Enable it on the plugin settings

Back on WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > DPD Pickup, under Shipping methods, tick the checkbox for every shipping method that should show the Pickup Point selector at checkout.

4. Configure the checkout experience

The User interface section controls what your customers see when choosing a Pickup Point:

  • How many points to show, and whether the first one is pre-selected or the customer must choose one themselves
  • Whether Lockers are allowed, for every order or only for cash on delivery
  • Whether to show the point’s opening hours and extra details (parking, accessibility)
  • The instructions text shown above the Pickup Point selector
  • An optional map (Mapbox token or Google Maps API key) showing the point’s location

5. Choose what shows on emails and in the backend

Under Emails and My Account, decide whether the Pickup Point details should replace the shipping address on order emails and on the customer’s “My Account” order details.

Under Backend, decide whether the Pickup Point should replace the shipping address on the WooCommerce orders list, so you can see it at a glance.

Not seeing any Pickup Points at checkout?

Use the Run connections test link at the top of the plugin settings page. It checks that your server can reach the DPD webservice and reports any connectivity issues your host may need to fix.

Only for DPD Portugal customers

If you also have our “DPD Portugal for WooCommerce” plugin, you need to ask your DPD sales manager for three shipping accounts for Pickup delivery in mainland Portugal, Spain, and the rest of Europe. Then go to the “DPD Portugal for WooCommerce” settings and fill those account numbers into “Portugal: Delivery on the Pickup network”, “Spain: Delivery on the Pickup network”, and “Europe: Delivery on the Pickup network”. You should also assign these accounts to the corresponding shipping methods on the “Rules per shipping method” section.

Is this a WooCommerce shipping method?

No. You need to use the WooCommerce native shipping methods, or from 3rd party plugins, to calculate shipping costs.

This plugin only allows your customers to chose the DPD Pickup Point where they want the order to be delivered, instead of their homes.

For each destination where you offer the Pickup service, you should create a separate shipping method (besides the regular “home delivery” one) where the Pickup selection will show up, which happens if you assign it on this plugin’s settings “Shipping methods” section. You should make sure that the shipping methods assigned to this plugin are only covering countries where we can show the Pickup Point selection.

My customer chose a Pickup Point. Now what?

Now you need to copy the Pickup Point ID (normally made up of two letters and 5 digits) from your WooCommerce order management screen and use it in whatever platform you use to create the DPD parcel labels. That’s out of the scope of this plugin and our support policy.

If you are based in Portugal tho, you can use our “DPD Portugal for WooCommerce” plugin to issue your labels directly in WooCommerce.

Can I change the pickup point after the order was placed?

Yes. Open the order on WooCommerce > Orders, and next to the Pickup Point details you’ll find an edit (pencil) icon. Clicking it opens a small search box where you can look up a different point by postcode and country, select it, and save the order to confirm the change.

This is only available to Administrators and Shop managers.

For which countries can this plugin allow the shop customers to chose the delivery Pickup Point?

This plugin allows your shop customers to chose delivery in DPD (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland), BRT (Italy), SEUR (Spain), and PostNord (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden) Pickup network of partners and Lockers.

Your shop can be based on any country where your local DPD company allows delivery on the Pickup network in any of the above countries, but you need to check with your DPD sales manager the service availability.

If your shop is based in Spain and you’re a customer of SEUR Spain, this plugin will not give you the correct ID for the national Pickup Points, as it shows the international DPD IDs and not the local SEUR ones. You can send from Spain to any other country and from any other country to Spain, but not within Spain. We are trying to fix this with SEUR.

What’s the difference between a Pickup Point and a Locker?

A Pickup Point is a staffed shop or point of sale where your customer collects the order in person. A Locker is an unattended, automated locker station.

If your shop sells large items (packages bigger than roughly 50x40x20cm), you should hide Lockers from the selection, since they can’t fit bigger parcels. You can do this with the “Remove Lockers” setting, for all orders or only for cash on delivery.

Third-Party Compatibility

Shipping rate plugins

If you use a table-rate shipping plugin to calculate rates for your Pickup Point shipping methods, the following are supported on both the classic and block-based checkout:

Each individual rate within these plugins shows up as its own selectable option on this plugin’s “Shipping methods” settings, so you can enable Pickup Points for some rates and not others.
