We’re excited to announce the release of Payment Multibanco for FluentCart via ifthenpay, a new plugin by Naked Cat Plugins that lets you easily accept Multibanco payments in your FluentCart store.
This plugin is the first 3rd-party payment integration for FluentCart worldwide, apart from the payment methods included in the core plugin.

Built for the Portuguese e-commerce ecosystem
ifthenpay is the leading payment provider in Portugal, offering local payment methods such as Multibanco, MB WAY, Payshop, Credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more.
With this plugin, FluentCart users can now generate Multibanco payment references directly in their store. The payment status is automatically updated when the customer completes payment, ensuring a smooth, reliable workflow for both store owners and buyers.
The current version supports Multibanco payments, and we’re already working on adding MB WAY in the next update. Other ifthenpay payment methods will follow as FluentCart grows and more live stores adopt it.
Our experience with ifthenpay goes back to 2013, when Webdados (our parent company) began developing ifthenpay integrations for WooCommerce. This long-standing partnership has allowed us to bring the same level of reliability, expertise, and local market knowledge to FluentCart stores.
Collaboration with the FluentCart team
Before developing the plugin, we met with Md Shahjahan, CEO of FluentCart, to better understand the platform’s architecture and discuss its future direction, especially regarding payment gateways.
During this collaboration, we reported several issues and suggested improvements to FluentCart’s gateway system. We’re happy to share that many of these suggestions were accepted and have already been implemented, improving the overall developer and merchant experience in FluentCart.
This open communication with the FluentCart team reflects our shared goal of making WordPress ecommerce more flexible and reliable for everyone.

Like most of our plugins, Payment Multibanco for FluentCart via ifthenpay is entirely free and available in the WordPress.org plugin directory. There are no paid upgrades or premium versions planned, just a simple, reliable way to offer Portuguese payment methods through FluentCart.
